Optical control of molecular-based electronic nanodevices
Artem Bakulin
FOM Institute AMOLF, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Molecular electronics is a lively developing field of research which aims to use organic and bio molecules to conduct and control electrical currents. My talk will be devoted to the investigation and optimization of molecular-based and hybrid electronic devices with the help of ultrafast spectroscopy. In particular, I will introduce a new technique (optical-control spectroscopy) which links the molecular-level photophysics of the devices to their macroscopic performance. The talk will outline a number of success stories and discuss some possible future applications of the described approach to the areas of photovoltaics and bio-electronics.
