Dilution refrigerators : history and techniques

This seminar is aimed at current and future researchers in very low temperature physics. Nowadays, dilution equipments are highly automated, but it is important to know how they work in the event of a breakdown or leak. After a brief historical overview of cooling methods, a simple description of how dilution works with or without liquid He will be given.
