2D materials : Graphene and beyond

A. Shukla (IMPMC)

A whole new domain in condensed mater physics has opened up with the discovery of graphene. This development is related to the singular properties of graphene and of other 2D materials but also due to the relative ease of fabricating and manipulating these materials. I will talk of the promise of this field and of ongoing work in my group on such materials and concentrate on a few experimental results : fabrication, devices and doping, and electronic and vibrational properties with two prototype materials as examples, graphene and MoS2
